Sweden Reduces Food VAT to 6% — Our Commitment to Customers
Dear Customers,

We are pleased to acknowledge the Swedish Government's recent decision to reduce the VAT rate on food from 12% to 6% — a meaningful step towards easing the cost of living for households across Sweden. We welcome this initiative and are fully committed to passing on the benefit to our customers wherever we are able to do so.

However, we also wish to be transparent about the broader challenges currently affecting our operations. The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has led to a significant and sustained rise in global fuel prices and international shipping rates. In addition, last-mile courier costs and operational expenses across the supply chain have increased considerably over the same period.

While the VAT reduction provides some relief, the increase in logistics and supply chain costs has partially offset the savings we are able to pass on. We are working diligently to absorb as much of this pressure as possible, so that our customers see a meaningful reduction at checkout.

We sincerely regret that we are not in a position to reduce our prices to the full extent that the VAT change might suggest. Please know that this is not a decision taken lightly — our commitment has always been to offer fair, transparent pricing, and that remains unchanged.

Despite the significant rise in fuel and logistics costs, we are proud to confirm that our shipping policy remains completely unchanged. All orders over 500 SEK continue to qualify for free shipping anywhere in Sweden — a commitment we have chosen to maintain because we believe affordable access to quality groceries should never be compromised by circumstances outside our customers' control.

Free shipping on all orders over 500 SEK across Sweden — unchanged and guaranteed, regardless of rising fuel or logistics costs.

We will continue to review our pricing regularly and will pass on further savings as the situation allows. Thank you for your understanding and your continued trust in Nila Groceries.

India's Non-Basmati Rice Export Ban — Our Response
Dear Customers,

At Nila Groceries, we understand that the recent export ban on non-basmati white rice from India has created uncertainty for rice consumers across the world. We want to be transparent about how we are managing this situation — and to reassure you that we remain committed to fair, responsible practices throughout.

We will not use this situation as an opportunity to raise prices. Our focus is on maintaining a steady, equitable supply for all our customers without adding to any unnecessary concern.

We are actively working to identify and secure alternative sourcing channels, and are closely monitoring developments in the supply chain. We will communicate any relevant updates as the situation evolves.

As a gesture of support, all orders exceeding 500 SEK qualify for free shipping anywhere in Sweden, effective immediately.

We are grateful for your continued trust in us. Please do not hesitate to contact our customer support team if you have any questions or concerns.

Price Adjustments Due to Global Freight and Inflation
Dear Customers,

We would first like to take this opportunity to thank you sincerely for the tremendous support you have shown us over the years.

As you may be aware, the ongoing freight crisis and global inflation are creating significant pressure across the retail industry. The sharp rise in freight costs that began in late 2021 has persisted well beyond initial forecasts, and industry experts indicate the situation may continue for an extended period.

We have absorbed these additional costs for as long as we are able to. However, we have now reached a point where continuing to do so is no longer viable, and product prices will be adjusted in the coming days.

We understand this is not easy news, and we are grateful for your understanding. Your continued support means a great deal to us.
