Beetroot pappad in its light violet texture is made of rice flour and beetroot. Each pappad is made in small circular round shape with diameter less than 5cm. As with the case of every other pappad varieties, upon frying in oil, beetroot pappad becomes crispy, which can be served as a side dish for hot steaming rice and sambar. Specially designed small round shaped beetroot pappad will be an attractive food for the young ones. Rice is combined with mashed beetroot to get violet coloured dough which is later rolled to get the small round shaped pappads. Miniature round pappads are dried in sunlight to get the desired product. Coconut oil or any other preferred coconut oil can be used for frying.
